Video: Family pet turns detective to sniff out live bomb on Yorkshire beach

A family pet turned detective when he sniffed out a live bomb during a stroll on a beach.

Scruff the dog started circling the undetonated 28lb bomb on Aldbrough Beach, East Yorks

His walker, Scott Collins, 32, didn’t think the bomb was live - and even posed for pictures with the find. But Scruff seemed uneasy around the bomb and after a few phone calls, scaffolder Scott was shocked that the dog was right - and a Royal Navy disposal team had to detonate it. Scott, of Hull, East Yorks., said: “It was like Scruff was trained to do it and had this sense that something was wrong with it, because he didn’t leave it alone.
