Police are investigating following the discovery of human remains at a waste recycling centre.

Officers attended Skelton Skips in Knowsthorpe Way following a report stating human remains had been found there. The report was received at 9:57am on Monday, October 31. Over 24 hours may have passed since the report of the discovery in Cross Green but there was still a police presence at the scene at 11:10am on Tuesday, November 1.

Pictures show the presence of a Police Welfare Unit van, as well as two police vehicles parked further down the road on Knowsthorpe Way. During the time the Yorkshire Evening Post spent near the location of the discovery, there was one police officer spotted near the Skelton Skips premises. The area surrounding Knowsthorpe Way is an industrial one and it appeared to be business as usual for the local workplaces.
