Calverley Millennium Walk raises thousands for charity

This year's annual seven-mile Calverley Millennium Way Walk raised £2,240 for charity.

The event, which took place in May, attracted 85 walkers and the funds raised will be divided between four care homes in Calverley – Champion House, The Bungalows, St Luke's Nursing Home and Brookleigh Sheltered Homes.

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Coun Frank Robinson (Cons, Calverley and Farsley), was on hand to oversee the presentation of the cheques.

The president of Calverley Rotary Club, Trevor Eakin, presented the cheques.
