* Click here for latest Calverley news.The match started with drama from the off with the news that Ben Storrie had suffered an ankle injury the night before playing in the garden and had been ruled out of the match.
However their was drama when Ben began to put on his boots. Had this been kidology by Steve Thompson all along.
On paper Calverley were favourites to win this game But as we know the game is not played on paper.
Calverley got off to bad start conceding a goal in the first minute.
However despite responding well just could not score.
The attack being led by Owen Bailey and Thomas Reynolds. 0-1 at the break. Tension was high.
Whatever was said at half time worked. From the whistle Calverley attacked.
Owen Bailey hit the post with a strong drive for George Taylor to hit in the rebound. Calverley were soon 2-1 up when George Taylor turned in the box to hit home.
It was soon made 3-1 with a solo effort from Chrissy Brown.
Calverley could now celebrate and began to turn on the style.
Owen Bailey scoring two and Chrissy Brown another to cap a fine performance.
All we could now do was wait for the result from the Stanningley match to come through.
An hour after the match it did with the news that they had lost their game 5-1.
Calverley were outright champions. The celebrations began in earnest. Well done to the boys.
