A councillor has hit out at the lack of progress and the amount of time the council is taking to complete refurbishment works in Pudsey Park.
A five-year development plan includes the construction of a new playground.

However, the relocation of the 'Pets Corner' section of the park is still on-going and the zoo will remain closed until this work is completed.

The scheme was meant to have been finished by Easter this year, however there is still considerable work to be done and building materials and equipment continue to litter the park.

Councillor Jarosz has criticised the way that this project has been managed and has highlighted the inconvenience that these on-going works have caused to visitors of the park.

Councillor Josie Jarosz (Lab, Pudsey) told Pudsey Today: "I am deeply frustrated over the amount of time the council is taking to complete the refurbishment of Pudsey Park. For example, the Pets Corner section of the park was meant to have been opened to the public months ago but judging by the current state of the site, it looks like a completion date is a long way off.

"Pudsey Park is a popular award-winning local attraction and local residents take great pride in it. However, the upheaval and general disarray that has been caused by the on-going work is off-putting and upsetting for visitors. A large area of the park look like a building site and it now seems that work has come to a complete halt."

She added: "I have always supported the development plans for Pudsey Park and I am confident that they will eventually provide a great facility for children and for the whole family to enjoy. However, the amount of time this is taking and the way the project has been managed so far is totally unacceptable."

She added she was due to meet with relevant officers where she would be pressing for assurances about the progress of this scheme.
