Volunteers have helped make a pond area safe for pupils at a Horsforth primary school.

Volunteers from O2 helped make the pond area made safe for the young environmental enthusiasts.
* Click here to become a fan of Horsforth Today on Facebook.The school's outdoor classroom initiative, led by teacher, Mrs Pauline Harrison and local ecologist Hugh Roberts has seen the creation of a new pond, and wildlife area.
But till now the children have not been able to use it because of health and safety risks.
Pauline Harrison, teacher from Westbrook Lane Primary School said: "The whole school is so exited about the new pond. We will be able to have pond dipping classes and min-beast expeditions."
She added: "We are very grateful to O2 for all of their help – without them we would not have been able to make the pond area safe."
02's Jana Leitnerova said: "I am so glad that we could help Mrs Harrison and all at Westbrook Primary School – outdoor classrooms are a brilliant way to get children involved and interested in their environment."
